Adaptive Billiards, Pool and Snooker

Unlike some other sports, there are no significant modifications to rules for adaptive billiards, pool and snooker.  Wheelchair players must keep one butt cheek on their wheelchair cushion (stand-up players must keep one foot on the floor).  Physically disabled players are allowed to use a bridge or add an extension to their cue for long shots.  The billiard, pool and snooker equipment is the same, but players can use adaptive equipment to accommodate disabilities.  These include devices to hold a cue, spring-loaded cues, pool cuffs and more.

World Disability Billiards and Snooker (WDBS)
The WDBS has been set up under the auspices of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, with guidance from the English Federation of Disability Sport.  The body runs tournaments for people with disabilities, under eight different categories.  There are also open days at which players can get free advice and guidance from experienced WPBSA World Snooker coaches.

National Wheelchair Poolplayer Association (NWPA) Inc.
The National Wheelchair Poolplayers Association, Inc. (NWPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging, developing and regulating wheelchair billiards.  The NWPA has worked with other groups, organizations and tournaments to update rules to include wheelchair players around the world.
